EXAMPLE
E-TEXT OPENING WINDOWS
To help the user familiarize themselves
with what they will see while going through the
e-Text download, validation and opening process,
the steps and the associated pictures of the windows
that will appear are presented below.
In order for the user to obtain
the 2008 e-Textbook, an e-Mail containing a download
link is sent out from service@advancedideals.org.
Below is what the e-mail content and links will
look like.

After
clicking on the download link and downloading the
RBTI e-Textbook file it will look like this after
downloading.

The above pictured file is the file
that you will double click on to start the password
verification and opening process. Once the e-Textbook
file is opened and readable, the file will still
look as it did when it was first downloaded. Please
do not change the name of this file or it will
quite working correctly.
After double clicking on the above
pictured file, the window will open that looks
like the one below. This is the beginning of the
download and password validation and opening process.
The email address that was used to send the download
link must be placed where it says, "Enter
eMail address here." If the wrong e-mail address
is used, or there is a typo, the validation and
opening process will not work. Note: you must have
an active internet connection for the process to
function.

If the correct e-Mail address is
submitted in the above pictured window, the next
window, shown below, will appear. Please note that
this window has three items to pay attention to:
1) Password "KEY#"
(example shows 878); 2) The
(Case-Sensative) password itself. Example shows:
DANLNWB; 3) A
link that must be clicked to open a second small
window in which to submit the password (example
DANLNWB). Please keep track of this information
if needed in the future.

Below is what the above window
looks like with the second small window open (in
front of larger window) for submitting the password.

After submitting your Case-Sensative
password in the window pictured above, the rest
of the validation and opening process should be
completed automatically by your Acrobat Reader
program.
VERY,
VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!
READ
CAREFULLY!!
During the rest of the opening process,
another password window will open like the one
below. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUT
ANYTHING IN THIS PASSWORD WINDOW!! This window is handled
by Acrobat Reader. The RBTI_e-Text file is a large
file, so give it time to open in Acrobat Reader.
You may only see this window appear and then disappear.
HOWEVER, if it lingers for a while, LEAVE
IT ALLONE. DO NOT PUT A PASSWORD IN THIS WINDOW!!
IF YOU DO, YOU WILL STOP THE E-TEXT FROM OPENING. If
this password window fills in, though it may not,
it will only fill in with
asterisks (***********). How this window acts depends
on your computer configuration and Acrobat Reader.
LEAVE THIS WINDOW ALONE!
LEAVE IT ALONE!
LEAVE IT ALLONE!

TO
REPEAT! THE ABOVE WINDOW CAN
APPEAR VERY BRIEFLY AND THEN DISAPPER, OR IT CAN
LINGER FOR A WHILE DEPENDING ON THE SPEED
OF YOUR COMPUTER AND HOW FAST YOUR ACROBAT READER
PROGRAM HANDLES A LARGE FILE LIKE THIS.
If the window remains open and the
e-Textbook does not open, close this window and
any Acrobat Reader windows that are open. Check
your "caps lock" to
make sure it is off. Then, double click on the
e-Text file ("RBTI_e-Text.exe")
again to repeat the opening process. Usually the
second time the above password window will appear
for a time and then disappear. The e-Text will
then open in Acrobat Reader.
If after the auto password fills
in and then you get a message saying "wrong
password," check your "caps lock" on your key
board to see if you left it on. If your "caps lock"
is left on while the auto password is filling
in, you will get the message "wrong password."
Also, make sure your keyboard "caps
lock" is turned off, before each reopening. If the "caps
lock" is on during reopening, the auto password that is entered,
which looks like (************), will be wrong and the e-Text will
not open. KEEP THE KEYBOARD "CAPS
LOCK" OFF DURING ALL SUBSEQUENT REOPENINGS OF THE E-TEXT.
If the above window continues to
remain open after several opening tries, please
contact service@advancedideals.org.
