What is an e-textbook?
An e-textbook is a textbook that has been put into a digital electronic format equivalent to a conventionally printed book. The electronic file that contains the e-textbook must be downloaded to a personal computer or dedicated hardware, known as an "e-book reader" in order to be read.

The advantages of updating and formatting the current human RBTI text into an e-textbook publication are many. More particularly, while allowing for the use of full color at no cost, it also allows the reader to do electronic word searches. An electronic book is very cost effective to produce and is environmentally friendly. E-books offer the information to be more readily available to a reader with disabilities as the print size can be electronically adjusted on the computer. Additionally, it makes possible for having the text read out loud through the computer itself, provided the individual's software has that capability.

By the way, this is the first RBTI textbook to be put into a "digital" e-book format. We know you will enjoy as well as profit from its use.

What kind of computer do I need to use this RBTI e-textbook?
Any personal computer (PC) that is running a Windows operating system along with a version of Adobe's ACROBAT READER software.

Additionally, this e-textbook can be read on any Macintosh computer able to run Microsoft's Virtual PC (i.e., G3, G4 & G5 models), as well as the newest Intel dual core Macintosh's, which are capable for running Windows software along with a Windows version of Adobe's ACROBAT READER.

What do you mean a "special encrypted file?"
The RBTI e-textbook is delivered in a file that is strongly encrypted with 128-bit encryption. Essentially this means, when you receive your copy of the encrypted RBTI e-textbook, you will only be able to use the e-textbook in a certain manner because of specific digital copyright protection. Specifically, the RBTI e-textbook will be fully available for reading, study and searching, but you will not be able to print or copy it . A HARD COPY of the e-Textbook is available.

What else is important for me to be aware of?
••• The e-mail that you will receive containing the download link comes from service@advancedideals.org. Please, make sure that the email from service@advancedideals.org does not get blocked or stopped by your email server as spam or you will not receive necessary download link. If you do not receive you download link as expected, first check your spam and junk mail folders.

••• If your computer hardware gets updated or modified, this can sometimes cause the "RBTI_e-Text.exe" file not to function correctly. If this happens and you attempt to open and use your e-Text, you will get a message that says: "Attention: The Internet occasionally suffers system failures.  If you have already paid for your password do not pay again.  Please email service@advancedideals.org  Include your purchase info and ask for password ID# (here will be a number)." Follow the message's instructions to get your needed password to reopen your e-Text file.

••• Do not create a Windows "shot cut" file for you desktop to open the e-Text file in another location on your hard drive. The "RBTI_e-Text.exe" file will interpret that as if its name has been altered, preventing the "RBTI_e-Text.exe" file from functioning correctly.

Will I be able to place a copy of the my RBTI e-Textbook file on another computer? Yes, you can copy the downloaded e-Text file ("RBTI_e-Text.exe") to another hard drive, BUT, in order to open and use it, you will need to purchase another password from Advanced Ideals Institute for $45. If you would like to have the e-textbook on a second computer, just copy and paste the "RBTI_e-Text.exe" file as usual. Once you have pasted the file to your second hard drive, double click on the file as you did to open your first download, then follow the prompts to purchase another password to make that copy useable.

What can cause my RBTI e-Textbook file to not function correctly after it has been opened? The opened and usable e-Text file is named "RBTI_e-Text.exe" and must remain that after opening. If you attempt to alter the name of this file in any way, the file will not function correctly. If you attempt to move the file to another folder or location on your (same) hard drive by the "copy and paste" method, the new file that is created will not be able to be opened until a new password is purchased. The only method to use for relocating or moving the "RBTI_e-Text.exe" file to a new folder or location (as long as it is on the same hard drive) is by the "drag and drop" method. If you try the "drag and drop" method to move the file to a different hard drive, you will be asked to purchase a new password. "Dragging and dropping" the file onto a new hard drive will cause the file to act like you have used the "copy and paste" method — you will be asked to purchase a new password to make the file function in the new location.

Also, make sure your keyboard "caps lock" is turned off, before each reopening. If the "caps lock" is on during reopening, the auto password that is entered, which looks like (************), will be wrong and the e-Text will not open. KEEP THE KEYBOARD "CAPS LOCK" OFF DURING ALL SUBSEQUENT REOPENINGS OF THE E-TEXT.
